Francisco Tárrega (1852-1909)

Éste es uno de los más gentiles, elegantes, y hermosos valses que he escuchado en mi corazón. Está todo en una guitarra. Emana completitud, perfección, virtud, gracilidad y belleza. Seguramente se identifique un pequeño fragmento de esta obra y suene familiar, y es cierto; una conocida compañía electrónica quedó tan enamorada de esa parte de la melodía de este maravilloso vals, que la incorporó en uno de sus tonos de telefonía. Es un honor para mí traer aquí la melodía original y la obra original de F. Tárrega (Villareal, España, 1852).

This is one of the most noble, elegant and beautiful waltzes that I have heard in my heart. It’s all contained in the guitar. It exudes completeness, perfection, virtue, grace, and beauty. You will surely be able to identify a small fragment of this piece; an electronics company loved that part of the melody so much that it incorporated it into its marquee ringtone. It is an honor for me to bring you the original melody and the original piece by F. Tarrega (Valladolid, Spain, 1852).
